Monday, Monday……

Monday, Monday…..you all know the drill.

Monday, Monday….

Monday is once a week.

I have been MIA for awhile….Life keeps getting in my way.  (excuse #1)

MIA…

This past weekend I have come to realize

that I really am fooling myself.

It took being called a

                          FAILURE

many times over,  for me to realize this.

The absolutely last time was this past weekend, and by whom?

My husband of all people =(  .

I have had my share of many “business ventures” that really were not “business ventures” I did what I enjoyed, ceramics and painting (aka Shaw-Ramics) as a hobby, and kept dreaming and dreaming of it becoming my full time job.

Are you kidding me????

I never really understood how to move forward to make it a definite business.  There was no guidance available for me to learn, no help.  If I tried to talk to anyone in my family, etc I was laughed at and told

“Impossible”

“You can’t make a living doing that”

“What are you, Crazy?”

I also worked outside the home full time.

Now don’t get me wrong, they were both lucrative, part time incomes that paid for my “Habit” but that was as far as it went.  I knew that, but had no idea of or how to move forward.

“What next”                        “Who can HELP me?”                                                                                          And no one supported me to find help, but just laughed at me.  There was no internet, as we have the internet that we do today!  It was just starting, and well….I kept my dream alive, day by day, month by month, year by year for myself, to continue longing and dreaming to work for myself…. Then….Life happens, I was blessed with my daughter and she is the best thing that ever happened to me.

So I continued dreaming of my hobby, but spent my days caring for her while I now worked from home.

CraftiLadi was now born…

I did phone work but also tried my hand creating finished crafts in to sell at Craft Co-Ops/Antique Shops and Craft Malls.  This was not profitable which I was reminded of not very nicely either….I then had one of my down moments and I GAVE UP!!!

No, NO, NO!!!  They say…

Fast forward to today.

Sorry such a long post, but an important one.

As I have been working 2 necessary jobs I have been thrown back into school here say…internet school around those jobs.  The wonderful world of Facebook has introduced me to some wonderful people, creative people, business people, coaches, entrepreneurs and just plain extremely successful, caring, crafty creatives who are people who do not have a problem sharing their knowledge with everyone. Some of this information is free and some is paid…..

I am so overwhelmed.  But it is a good overwhelm.

So going forward….

Don’t Talk – Act

Have a crafti  day everyone.

Isn’t Fall the best…

A ocllection of fall pumpkins and leaves

A collection of fall pumpkins and leaves

Fall decorating, crafts and

recipes are the best.  It’s getting

colder outside, the leaves are falling,

and we begin to prepare for the colder

months and getting ready for the holidays.

Nature becomes beautiful with all the colors, the air becomes crisp, the breeze starts to blow and the leaves are now falling to the ground.

Don’t get me wrong…..I LOVE SUMMER, it’s great.  But there is something really special about fall.

Handcrafted Pink and White Dogwood Wreath for Etsy Shop

I made this handcrafted pink and white dogwood wreath yesterday for Craftiladi.  I have been working hard to learn about Etsy.  In case you don’t know what Etsy is….most everyone knows about Ebay…..Etsy is an Ebay for handmade crafts.  I have dabbled around making and selling handcrafted items and gifts for a long time, but I really need to step it up a notch.  This really is my true calling.  I am happiest when I am creating with my hands…..I absolutely love to craft things.  I have been taking webinars, reading articles, and doing everything that I can to try to make my lifelong dream come true!   Journey with me as I continue to make this passion for crafts to fill my life, with my love for handcrafts and hopefully other lives also!

Have a crafty day!!

Jamie’s Tree

When our daughter Jamie was born and growing up…..I decided that each year I would give her an ornament dated for that year.

When she got older and left our nest, got married or whatever pathway she chose to take in life…                                                   she would have a collection of ornaments to take with her.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   I searched stores and craft shows                                                     all the time for handmade, meaningful ornaments.

I saw this on Pinterest today,  Thanks to  www.blessedarethefeet.com/give-every-day-shine/     new-year It struck home that  I need to set goals for my blog for the brand spankin new, sparkly, do-over, blank canvas, full of promise, and hopeful NEW YEAR!!                                                            GOALS!!                                                    You could think of goals as a recipe for your success? There are short term, and long term goals.  Goals are written to carry out or attain a desired outcome.  They will most likely need to be modified, reviewed and most likely will be changed once, twice, maybe more or if you are lucky maybe less.  I love this graphic because of all its ideas of how you can improve or change your goals. Stay Tuned….

I’ve been very lax on this whole blog experience since Christmas 2013….this has not been my choice. I came to a bit of a roadblock, and couldn’t figure out where to go with things….Since I have the pleasure of having summers off with my job, I have resigned myself to really searching, and learning….about bigger and better things.  I am currently learning new things that I will soon share with you all, so please…..

LET’S GET CREATIVE!!!!

Stay tuned,

Linda

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow….

Today’s craft comes from your imagination.

As a child I was always cutting paper snowflakes.  Fold, fold  and fold.  Then cut, cut and cut.  Then open up the paper to see the wonderful creation.  I always felt like such an accomplished artist.  there never were two that turned out alike.  So exciting.  Now as an adult I still enjoy the thrill.  Although now I try to see how intricate I can make my snowflakes.  It just  makes me feel like a kid again.  View the tutorial from Martha Stewart here. Then fold, and cut and let your imagination soar!!!  A few years ago I also discovered 3 dimensional paper snowflakes. More about that in a future post.  I make them for the office that I work in at school.  Hang with string or thread attached at the top, or use putty to attach to the window.

Also when you are satisfied with your creation, spray glue on your snowflake and sprinkle it with glitter….Beautiful!

This is a craft that young and old can enjoy.  So get out your scissors and ENJOY!!  HAVE FUN!!!!  BE A CHILD AGAIN!
